Just 2 decades ago teachers were one of the most respected people in America and schools were considered a critical part of a successful life. When I went to school long ago, we passionately pledged allegiance to the flag before class and at all sports games. Our schools and teachers proudly, enthusiastically, and passionately taught us American history and constantly reminded us that America was the “Land of the free and home of the brave”. During our history courses they taught us about the bravery and wisdom of our Founding Fathers that gave us our magnificent Constitution and Bill of Rights. They taught us with pride how America freed the slaves in the Civil War with the blood of 650,000 Americans that were killed and 1.2 million that were wounded. They taught us how America brought freedom to over a billion people in Europe & Asia in WWI and WWII and rebuilt our allies and enemies after WWII with our money through the Marshall Plan.

Sadly, many if not most teachers and schools are no longer forces for good and for America, they are attacking America, our history, our culture, and our freedom which is causing massive damage to our kids and our country. Let’s start with the most recent damage our teachers and schools have done to our kids during the Covid crisis. Despite the science and the recommendations of the CDC and the American Academy of Pediatrics that recommended that we get our kids back in school in June of last year, teachers unions and teachers fought to keep our kids out of public schools and they won causing massive unnecessary academic, social, and psychological damage to our kids that will last their lifetimes according to the CDC and American Academy of Pediatrics. They did that out of irrational fear and greed. While Walmart workers earning $15 an hour kept going to work every day, most public school teachers did not. The total number of American kids under 18 who died from Covid was only roughly 400 out of 55 million! Ten times more kids died from suicide than from Covid.  Mental health emergency visits to hospitals by kids is through the roof because of depression caused from the isolation of school shutdowns. The fact that 3 times more American kids died from the annual flu than from Covid shows how irrational these shutdowns were. Not one child in Sweden died from Covid even though they did not shut down their schools. This alone is a monumental and historical example of the abuse of children by teachers unions, teachers, and school executives.

Add to that tragedy the incredible failure of our schools. While America spends more money per student than any nation on Earth, only about 35% of American high school students graduate proficient (equals a C) in math, science, and reading! That means that 65% of American kids get a D or F! In the most recent PISA scores, American students finished 13th in reading, 18th in science, and 37th in math in the world. That’s embarrassing! Guess who finished first in all three? China! So despite spending the most money per student, thanks to our teachers and public schools our kids are losing the global education battle that is critical for global competition. Interesting to note that kids that go to private schools score significantly better in reading, math, and science than kids that go to public schools. You don’t find many teachers unions in private schools!

As bad as all that is, it is now getting much worse. We now have teachers, teachers unions, and schools eagerly taking on teaching our kids to hate America, our history, and our traditional values by teaching them the insane and completely dishonest Critical Race Theory and the insane and dishonest 1619 Project that tells our kids that America was built on racism and slavery, not freedom. That is not only false and despicable, it is treasonous and massive child abuse. While slavery has been practiced on every continent on Earth except Antarctica for thousands of years, the USA made slavery illegal when it was just 82 years after it became an independent nation and the Republican led Union Army defeated the Democrat Confederate Army and passed the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments which ended slavery, gave Blacks citizenship, and gave them the right to vote. Democrats voted against all three amendments but Republicans won that battle too!. Some states/colonies in the North made slavery illegal before the Declaration of Independence freed us from Britain! Every Northern state made slavery illegal by 1804 when America was just 17 years old. In contrast, the last nation on Earth to make slavery illegal and a crime was Mauritania in Africa in 2007! Africans practiced slavery for thousands of years as did Native Americans. Yet the USA which shed the blood of 1.8 million Americans in the Civil War to free the slaves when it was just 82 years old is the bad guy? How many students know that there are still roughly 24 million people illegally held as slaves in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia today?

As a result of this abuse of our children in schools and by so many teachers, only about 36% of young Americans between the ages of 18-24 are proud to be Americans compared to the 86% of Americans aged 65 and older that were taught to love America in the “good old days” when teachers and schools were a force for good, not for evil. The decline of our schools and teachers are a strategic threat to our country and our kids. While China is brainwashing their kids to love a communist dictatorship that threatens global freedom as it holds two million religious people in concentration camps and uses them for slave labor, many American teachers and schools are teaching our kids to hate America which has brought freedom to a billion people and defends the world against evil tyrants and dictators. It is time for all American parents to stand up and demand that teachers and our schools teach the truth that America is the greatest nation in the history of the world so that our kids grow up to be proud Americans who will defend their freedom.
