Republican US Senators Burr, Cassidy, Collins, Murkowski, Romney, Sasse, and Toomey voted to impeach Donald Trump. Burr is retiring and taking one for the team, trying to pretend that the farce put on by the Democrats was persuasive and changed the vote of another “Republican.”
As to Burr’s retirement, Sen. Lindsey Graham said on “Fox News Sunday that GOP votes – especially that of Sen. Richard Burr to convict former President Donald Trump in the impeachment trial — has opened the door for Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump.
She’s got a real shot at the North Carolina Senate race, Graham said.
Trump was totally right when he said: “It is a sad commentary on our times that one political party in America is given a free pass to denigrate the rule of law, defame law enforcement, cheer mobs, excuse rioters, and transform justice into a tool of political vengeance, and persecute, blacklist, cancel and suppress all people and viewpoints with whom or which they disagree.”
As for our Democrat Vice President Kamala Harris, she once joked accordingly when asked a question when yet a senator on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in early 2018 about killing former President Donald Trump and former Vice President Mike Pence: "If she had to be stuck in an elevator with Trump, Pence, or former U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions, which one would she pick?"
"Does one of us have to come out alive?" Harris responded. Harris laughed loudly as the show's crowd applauded enthusiastically.
What about Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell when he threatened Trump on the Senate floor following the failed impeachment effort? “McConnell did not hold back as he ripped Trump apart for a “disgraceful dereliction of duty” and attempting to “overturn the election.” McConnell claimed that the protesters stormed the Capitol because they had been “fed wild falsehoods by the most powerful man on earth,” and that Trump was “practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day.” "There’s no question – none – that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day,” McConnell said. McConnell went on to say that “this was an intensifying crescendo of conspiracy theories” by a president who seemed determined to overturn the will of the voters or “torch” institutions on the way out.”
Why didn’t McConnell vote to impeach Trump if he really believed Trump was guilty? Might it be that Mitch thinks he can still protect his leader status after the 2022 election by trying to work both sides?
Trump targets McConnell
Former President Trump released a strong statement Tuesday afternoon, February 16, 2021 targeting Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell for his Senate floor remarks.
Trump, once an ally of the Kentucky Republican, left no holds barred in his rebuke of McConnell, using terms harsher than those of most Democrats
Trump's statement follows:
The Republican Party can never again be respected or strong with political "leaders" like Sen. Mitch McConnell at its helm. McConnell’s dedication to business as usual, status quo policies, together with his lack of political insight, wisdom, skill, and personality, has rapidly driven him from Majority Leader to Minority Leader, and it will only get worse. The Democrats and Chuck Schumer play McConnell like a fiddle—they’ve never had it so good—and they want to keep it that way! We know our America First agenda is a winner, not McConnell’s Beltway First agenda or Biden’s America Last.
Vandals targeted the home of one of former President Donald Trump's impeachment lawyers, spray-painting the word "TRAITOR" in red on his driveway in suburban Philadelphia, police said.
The vandalism occurred around 8 p.m. on Friday at attorney Michael van der Veen's residence in West Whiteland Township, Pennsylvania, about 30 miles southwest of Philadelphia, according to police.
Reason behind Trump’s impeachment
Rep. Mike Johnson (R-La.), told Breitbart News in an interview on Feb. 14, 2021 that Democrats used the impeachment of former President Donald Trump as a tool to associate the 75 million Americans who voted for him with those individuals who on Jan. 6 broke the law.
“You weaponized this. You turned it into a political weapon to be used by the majority party against a president they don’t like. You opened a Pandora’s box that we may never be able to close again.”
The impunity of the Left
NBC News anchor Chuck Todd interviewed Rep. Raskin to ask him about the trial. It was Representative Jamie Raskin who served as the lead impeachment manager in the recent sham impeachment trial against President Trump.
Chris Todd asked of Rep. Raski: “So do you feel like this was a success? Or do you feel like because you failed to convict that you can’t look at it any other way than a failure?”
Rep. Raskin's response: “I think it was a dramatic success in historical terms. It was the largest impeachment conviction vote in U.S. history. It was by far the most bipartisan majority that’s ever assembled in the Senate to convict a president, which has traditionally been a kind of partisan thing in American history. We got seven Republicans, and if you look at the ten Republicans in the House who joined us, it was by far the most bipartisan decision and a complete repudiation of the president’s conduct. Now, unfortunately, it didn’t reach the two-thirds majority in the Senate.”
Rep. Raskin also said: “Everybody was convinced of the case we put forward, but, you know, as the defense lawyer said, just pick any one of these phony constitutional defenses, and then you can justify it.”
But who does Raskin think he's fooling? Trump's legal team proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Houses lawyers used fake and doctored materials as "evidence".
Trump Supporters undaunted
Trump might have been impeached twice and vilified by his political opponents and most of the mainstream media, but that doesn’t mean former President Donald Trump has lost much support among his loyal base of millions of supporters.
According to Breitbart, supporters of the 45th president held a rally in Palm Beach, Florida to celebrate President’s Day and ended up receiving the surprise of their lifetime as Mr. Trump himself made a surprise visit and drove slowly by his adoring fans while waving and acknowledging them.
Trump’s supporters greeted him with familiar Trump flags, American flags, and various banners, while shouting chants of “USA, USA!” as the president rolled by in a black SUV with a U.S. Secret Service escort, as is customary for former occupants of the White House.
Trump isn’t about to fade into the background. How unthinking it was for Democrats, the Deep State, Hollywood, the Establishment, and RINOS to think that he would.
Trump remains the leader of the Republican Party, whether McConnell and others approve of it or not.
