As a subscriber to Rev. Bill Cook's website, I was sent the following message, What's One Little Vote? to circulate before November 3, 2020.
Rev. Bill Cook is Founder & CEO of America's Black Robe Regiment, Co-Chairman of Virginia Watchmen Council, and Ordained Clergy in Virginia.
Rev. Cook founded America's Black Robe Regiment to be an "army" of clergy who seek to honor their legacy in the "Pulpit of the American Revolution," which preached the political ideology embodied in the Founding Charters for more than twenty five years before the war started.
In the words of Rev. John Peter Gabriel Muhlenberg, "In the language of Holy Writ, there is a time for all things; a time to preach and a time to fight! That time has now come!" Acknowledging that Liberty is precious, and bought by the blood of patriots before us, we will never give up on America. The pulpits of America must rise-up in defense of Liberty once again.
In keeping with this spirit, Rev. Cook has given permission to print out as many copies as needed of his message, What's One Little Vote, to hand out or to do with as you see fit. The disclaimer can be seen at the end of Cook's message.
Little Things Matter Most (What's One Little Vote?)
But I say unto you, that of every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof at the day of judgment. — God the Son, Matthew 12:36
In 2019, the U.S. population was estimated at 328,200,000 (328.2 million). About 77% or 253,768,092 were eligible to vote. There are between 90 and 100 million evangelicals of voting age in America today. For the sake of argument, let us assume there are 95 million evangelicals in the U.S. eligible to vote.
According to George Barna, 61% of the evangelical population in America voted in 2016. That leaves around 37.5 million who did not vote. Anecdotal evidence suggests that significantly fewer voted in the 2018 mid-term election, which effectively ceded control of the U.S. House of Representatives, Virginia House of Delegates, Virginia Senate and Executive Branch of Virginia’s Government to Democrats.
We do not need a rocket scientist or prophet to tell us where the evangelical community would be today if Donald Trump had failed to win the White House in 2016, and Republicans had failed to hold onto the US Senate in 2018. The actions of Democrats and the mainstream media over the last four years belie a predilection toward absolute despotism. What we have today bears no resemblance to the Democratic-Republican Party organized by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison in opposition to Federalist Party Rule in the early 1790s.
The Democrat majority in the United State House of Representatives has been taken over by Marxists, and for the last four years, their actions have told us all we need to know about our own and the future of our children if 40% us sit out another election. We do not need “Moses and the Prophets to tell us what will become of the Church in America under Marxism. We only need to learn the lessons of the past.
Since 1917, Marxist tyranny has been responsible for roughly 100 million deaths in China (65 million) in the Soviet Union (20 million) in Ukraine (5 million) in North Korea and Cambodia (2 million each) in Ethiopia (1.7 million) in Vietnam and Eastern Europe (1 million each) and in Latin America (150,000).
If you are among the 40 million evangelicals who did not vote in 2016 and 2018? I would like to propose that voting, for a professing believer in Christ Jesus, is more than a civic duty. It is a sacred duty. If “men will account for every idle word they have spoken on the day of judgment,” will they not be held accountable for every vote or failure to vote? Can a consistent failure to vote expect Jesus to say, “well done good and faithful servant, you have been faithful in little, I will make you ruler over much: enter into the joy of your Lord?” (Matthew 25:21)
Does Paul’s counsel, “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him,” (Colossians 3:17) apply to our role as American citizens? Does our identity as “the salt of the earth” encompass stewardship of our country?
Imagine what America might be today if 95 million evangelicals fulfilled their sacred duty to vote in support of biblical morality? Can we really claim to be pro-life, pro-family if we do not vote? Would America be in the condition it is today if 95 million evangelicals took voting seriously? Who then is ultimately responsible for “abortion on demand,” mainstreaming of homosexuality, same-sex marriage and the like, in our society today?
And what about you pastor? I hear a lot of fellow clergy say they do not want to alienate people in the pew who vote Democratic. But what about alienating God? Do pastors not have a sacred duty to preach the entirety of God’s counsel? Does God’s wisdom not apply to the way we vote? Is proper voting not encompassed by “the whole counsel of God?” And if millions of evangelicals do not vote or vote amiss, who is responsible for putting the “the children of disobedience” in positions of authority? The answers to these and other compelling questions should be obvious.
