After Biden's big wins Tuesday, it appears 2020 will be a Biden – Trump match
By Nancy Thorner & Bonnie O'Neil –
- The economy added 6.7 million jobs, and unemployment fell to the lowest rate in half a century.
- Our current economy has a growth rate of 2.1%.
- Stock prices hit record levels.
- Household income grew; poverty decreased, and paychecks grew 2.5% after inflation.
- Home prices reached record levels; home ownership increased.
The statistics are excellent, but sadly these and many other Trump accomplishments were under reported by this nation's mainstream news sources. That is particularly problematic considering these same sources proved exceedingly favorable to our former president, Barack Obama. They promoted Obama's accomplishments and found excuses for his failures with the same enthusiasm they find and expose everything Trump does to malign and discredit him.
Trump’s accomplishments in his first term have likewise been amazing. These too were largely misrepresented or not reported at all. Considering this record, it seems highly probable to expect anything other than the same type of reporting during the upcoming presidential election. Those who oppose Trump will obviously exaggerate any negative, while Leftist leaning media will continue its routine of reporting and leading with front page news stories geared to discredit Trump in the eyes of the public. While this is not an uncommon practice, especially in an election year, it nevertheless is something voters must identify and consider as the 2000 election goes forward. It is up to us to make sure our friends and neighbors not only are aware of Trump’s accomplishments, but that voting is also a priority.
At the present time it appears that Joe Biden will be the Democrat’s choice to face off with President Trump. Given the choice between Socialist Sanders and Joe Biden, the endorsement of Joe Biden by the Democrat establishment prior to Super Tuesday made it possible for Biden to win most of the 14 Super Tuesday states.
Concern, however, exists among many American that no matter who wins the presidency our nation is in trouble. For decades we have allowed laws to be ignored, such as those that deal with immigration issues. Our schools have also become aggressive sources for disseminating information that would have been considered heretical a decade ago.
The obvious reason President Trump was elected can be traced to the fact that he was not part of the “establishment." Millions of our citizens realized their nation had gone astray, lost substance, and basically was leading the public in a wrong direction. Trump hit a nerve when he called out the mainstream media as “fake news." Nothing, however, has been done by the media to prove the claim false. President Trump is still maligned at every opportunity possible.
Indoctrination Within Our School System
Parents who have been paying attention realize our younger generation is being indoctrinated by bold Leftists working within our nation’s school system. Socialism is becoming popular, especially among are youth, and could cause our nation to turn away from our Constitutional Republic and buy into a Socialist system.
This is of concern because facts prove that Socialism has failed whenever and wherever it has been introduced. Despite facts that prove otherwise, there are individuals who refuse to admit that the Socialist system is terribly flawed.
Apparently in their arrogance they believe they can succeed when others have failed. It is said the definition of ignorance is repeating the same failure over and over, believing a different outcome possible this time around.
Schools are failing to teach children about the dangers and failures of Socialism. Many young adults are therefore unaware that Socialism is a system that only works until the government runs out of other people's money.
Schools are likewise failing to teach the importance of respecting our election results and our elected officials to those who will be our leaders in the next generation. Are our schools teaching students facts or indoctrinating them to their own specific preferences?
Students are likely to become confused when they are asked to respect one another, respect the outcome of elections, but then hear their teachers and professors disrespect our elected officials … even our president. As patriots it is essential to demand our president and elected officials be given due respect.
Constructive criticism can be a positive, but we must keep in mind that we all have differences of opinions and our responses should be made with facts that support our conclusions. Those mired in hatred, tend to tune out anything positive which might cause them to change their mind. For some it’s difficult to admit they are wrong, but those who do should be commended. Respectful conversations are a positive to our nation and its citizens if expressed with respect.
Our younger generation has not experienced severe poverty or totalitarianism…most have not even known significant discomfort. They have lived in freedom, privilege, and prosperity. Even the poorest of American citizens need not go hungry. By comparison to other countries, our citizens live in luxury. We are so comfortable and happy, perhaps some have taken their good lives for granted. This is what they expect and therefore are not as appreciative as they should be.
Socialism Defined
Incredibly, there are some who do not value the amazing type of government we have. Perhaps they need to read "The Case Against Socialism" Rand Paul outlines the history of Socialism from Stalin's gulags to the current tragedy happening in Venezuela. He also tackles the common misconceptions about the "utopia" of socialist Europe. We are beginning to learn more about Scandinavian countries, whose leaders have been engaging in a form of Socialism and are now finding their citizens favoring capitalism. Socialism may seem good on paper, but whenever and wherever applied the Socialist system has ended badly. Scandinavians are beginning to understand the inherent flaws and have begun detaching themselves from the very system Bernie loves.
Socialism's return is only possible if too many Americans forget or have never learned the true dangers of the twentieth century's deadliest Ideology: Socialism! Unfortunately, this failed system is now the ideology du jour on American college campuses and provokes calls by starry-eyed youth for free-spending policies like Medicare for all and forgiveness of everyone’s college debt. Will those students who worked hard to pay for their college tuition in the past be reimbursed? Will the public be willing to have their taxes significantly increased in order to pay for everyone’s college education? Where does this type of thinking end?
As Margaret Thatcher stated: “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”
Candace Owens cites peace
As Candace Owens put it so brilliantly: "Our generation suffers from peace.” Her point is that if one has never experienced war, if we have not known hunger or hardships, we tend to take for granted our wonderful life and the many opportunities our nation offers. It is far easier for some to complain and/or blame others for their lack of success, but the truth is that Americans can experience a wonderful life if they make the effort to do so. The opportunity is certainly available to all who are willing to spend the time and effort to achieve success.
We must remember these excellent quotes from our wise forefathers. Although written almost 250 years ago, they carry with them a wealth of knowledge that spans the ages.
John Quincy Adams: “Always stand on principle…even if you stand alone."
Benjamin Franklin: "Well done is better than well said."
James Madison: "The circulation of confidence is better than the circulation of money.”
Benjamin Franklin: "To succeed, jump as quickly at opportunities as you do at conclusions.”
Thomas Jefferson: "Do you want to know who you are? Don't ask. Act! Action will define you."
Benjamin Franklin: "Do not squander time, for that is the stuff life is made of."
Benjamin Franklin: "Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning."
Thomas Jefferson: "Whenever you do something, act as if all the world were watching."
James Madison: "The advancement and diffusion of knowledge is the only guardian of true liberty."
Our Responsibility
This nation was founded by a collective of inspirational leaders and collaborators, but have you ever thought about how you can implement their ideas into your own company, your family, your life? Those who provided us excellent advice and wisdom, did so in the hope every generation would build upon the values and keep America great.
Our responsibility is to build upon the wisdom provided by our forefathers and do so for the sake of our children and the continued strength of our nation. Perhaps it is time to remind everyone, certainly those who seek to become citizens, that they first must agree to embrace our culture and laws. We would not expect to go to another's country and demand they make changes in their laws, their traditions, their culture to accommodate us. Be concerned about anybody, especially those in positions of power, who want to make radical changes in our values, customs, and laws.
