I realize most Americans did not watch President Trump’s Defense Team presentations to the U.S. Senate on Saturday, but they should have because it totally eviscerated the Democrat’s “Impeachment Charade” and exposed it for the unconstitutional, illegal, dishonest, and immoral charade it is. And unlike the Democrat’s endless 24 hour attacks on President Trump; the Trump Team’s presentation was concise, short, based on facts, and simply uncontestable. While Democrats Adam Schiff and Nadler went on and on for 24 hours bombarding Americans with the same untruths, the Trump Team took just 2 hours and 10 minutes to totally destroy the Democrat’s bogus impeachment charges.
Let me just summarize a few critical issues that the Trump Defense team focused on to destroy the Democrats dishonest impeachment case. First, they quickly showed that the Democrats did not have one fact based witness and intentionally hid the fact based testimony that completely cleared President Trump. The only two witnesses that actually spoke to President Trump about Ukraine said that he told them he did not want a quid pro quo. While Schiff didn’t show this in the Senate, the Trump Team played Ambassador Sondland’s testimony when he was asked what President Trump told him when he asked him what he wanted from Ukraine and he said President Trump told him “I want nothing. I want nothing. I want no quid pro quo”. That is as simple as it gets! That was reconfirmed by this question and answer under oath by Republican Mike Turner: “Mr. Sondland, let’s be clear: no one on this planet—not Donald Trump, Rudy Guiliani, Mick Mulvaney, Mike Pompeo—no one told you aid was tied to political investigations, is that correct?”. “That’s correct,” Sondland said. Why didn’t Democrat Adam Schiff share this in his presentation?
The biggest “bombshell” that the Trump Team disclosed was that President Trump did not delay for one minute what the Ukraine thought was the most important weapon to defend themselves against Russia. They shared a document in which President Zelensky told President Trump that the American Javelin anti-tank missiles he provided them were critical and they wanted to buy more of them. Those Javelin missiles were not part of that temporary delay of aid to Ukraine. If President Trump wanted to pressure Ukraine, why didn’t he hold up the shipment of those missiles? And the Trump Team reminded America that President Obama never shipped Ukraine one single lethal weapon to defend themselves when Russia invaded Crimea which broke a U.S. treaty promise. Obama didn’t want to upset Russia! On the other hand President Trump started sending lethal weapons to Ukraine in his first year of office and continues to do so today. Trump wants to keep America’s promises even if it makes Russia mad!
The other “bombshell” the Trump Team disclosed is that President Trump’s strategy of holding up tax payer dollars to make sure that they weren’t wasted in corrupt countries and to make sure those countries were investing in their own defense did not just impact Ukraine. President Trump temporarily withheld hundreds of millions of U.S. tax payer dollars from Afghanistan, Pakistan, South Korea and several other countries at the same time as he withheld money from Ukraine. Once he was assured that our tax dollars weren’t being wasted or corruptly abused, he released that money just as he did with Ukraine. What rational American could disagree with that? Naturally, Democrats withheld that information from Americans as they dishonestly slandered President Trump for purely political purposes.
Finally, the last “bombshell” the Trump Team shared with us is that the House impeachment process was completely unconstitutional in multiple ways. Democrats did not follow Constitutional rules for demanding evidence or testimonies and that President Trump has every Constitutional right to refuse those demands. Therefore the Democrat’s impeachment charge that he obstructed Congress is not only bogus, it is an insult to America and our Constitution.
Frankly, the Trump Team was nicer and more gracious than I would be now that I know the facts. This ‘Impeachment Charade” is not only unconstitutional, illegal, and immoral; it is a treasonous coup attempt to override the American people’s choice of a president and to remove him from the next ballot instead of letting the American people make that choice. In fact, Democrat Adam Schiff actually said that when he said in public that President Trump must be impeached by the Senate because we can’t trust the voters to make an informed choice in the next election. That folks is the definition of a tyranny! The American voters must punish every one of those Democrats in the House that voted for this “Impeachment Charade” by kicking them out of office in the next election. They should not only reelect the same President Trump that has brought us the best economy we have seen in decades who saved our Supreme Court, the federal courts, and our Constitution and Bill of Rights by appointing conservative Constitutional judges; they need to give Republicans control of the House and Senate so President Trump can continue to “Make America Great Again” over the next 4 years!
