Newsflash: There really are Republicans in Chicago!
Tuesday night, the Northwest Side GOP Club held their monthly meeting to announce candidates and start the arduous process of collecting petition signatures for the 2020 IL GOP Primary. The Republicans gathered at Oriole Park on the city's Northwest Side.
Matt Podgorski, chairman of the club moderated the meeting with help from Vice President Ammie Kessem. Matt passed a football to each speaker to add some levity to the meeting. US Senate candidates were given three minutes each to talk about their campaigns, including Peggy Hubbard and Mark Curran.
Cook County Board Review Commissioner Dan Patlak was also in attendance collecting petition signatures.
The NW side GOP kicked off their petition drive for the four Ward Committeeman candidates and three legislative candidates.
