CHICAGO – The 45 Committee – a political action committee started by Cubs owner Todd Ricketts and Las Vegas Sands owner Sheldon Adelson – is now running ads promoting Kavanaugh's confirmation.
Ricketts is serving as the RNC's Finance Chairman, and financially supported the Trump campaign after his first choice Scott Walker and second choice Ted Cruz dropped out of the 2016 presidential campaign.
Adelson has donated over $55 million to keep Republicans in control of Congress – bringing the billionaire's total contributions to various Republican causes above $100 million, according to the New York Times, possibly making him the largest single donor in American politics today.
