SPRINGFIELD – Rauner's new ad features clips from released FBI wiretaps between former Governor Rod Blagojevich and the Dems' gubernatorial primary leader J.B. Pritzker.
In the 2008 conversation Blagojevich sketches out a fictional scenario of deal-making with House Speaker Mike Madigan to appoint Madigan's daughter Lisa to fill Barack Obama's vacant U.S. Senate seat.
"I know how Madigan is …"
Then, Blagojevich says, "Don't rule out …" the possibility of him appointing Pritzker as Illinois' AG.
It didn't happen. But hearing it on the FBI wiretap gives insight into the way deals are made in Illinois and how Pritzker didn't have a problem with that type of deal-making almost ten years ago.
What makes anyone think Pritzker would be different today?
