CHAMPAIGN – If you're unhappy with Illinois Democrat or Republican March 2018 gubernatorial candidate options, there are three Libertarians that would like your consideration.
Three Libertarian candidates for Illinois Governor will meet in Champaign Tuesday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m. for the first of a series of public debates between the candidates.
Hosted by the Champaign County Libertarian Party and the Illini Libertarians, the debate forum will be held at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign's Gregory Hall in room 112.
The event will be followed by a candidate meet-and-greet. Candidates will be available for individual interview at that time. The entire debate is open to the public and press, and attendance is encouraged.
Candidates in attendance include Kash Jackson of Antioch, Matthew C. Scaro of Chicago, and Jon Stewart of Deerfield. All three are vying for the Libertarian gubernatorial nomination in Illinois.
The Libertarian Party of Illinois will vote on its governor and other state-wide candidates at the state convention in March in Bloomington. Tickets for the convention are currently available at lpillinois.org.
