NTRO's new committeeman Danielle Mergner (center) surrounded by fellow GOPers
NEW TRIER – The New Trier Republican Organization (commonly called NTRO) has a new chairman: Danielle Mergner.
“I am eager to get moving in the new position and look forward to building a strong and vibrant organization in New Trier,” said Mergner.
Mergner is an accomplished attorney and member of the Illinois Bar and Patent Bar. She has long been a Republican Party supporter and has worked on numerous campaigns.
The new commiteeman's immediate focus will be on building the NTRO to secure Governor Bruce Rauner's re-election, a statement from the group said.
After serving for the past year and a half, NTRO's outgoing Committeeman Mark Levine has accepted Governor Rauner's appointment to be chairman of the Illinois Board of Investments (ISBI).
Cook County GOP Chairman Sean Morrison conveyed his support for the new committeeman.
“I am pleased to announce the selection of Danielle Mergner to the post of Republican Committeeman for the township of New Trier. Danielle has long been a Republican party supporter and has worked very hard to elect Republicans in her area. I am certain this will be a great fit,” said Morrison.
The group's next event will be their annual Corn Beef and Cabbage Dinner in March. Check out the details at WWW.NTRO.org.
