Carpentersville, IL – Reformers Unanimous director Steve Swarga says Judge John Noverini’s strength of character both in the courtroom and outside of it makes him the most qualified to serve on the Illinois Supreme Court.
“Judge Noverini is the same guy no matter where he is and no matter what situation he faces,” Swarga said. “In his role as a judge, he has helped bring attention to the work we do at Reformer Unanimous, and he has been a friend of our program in his personal time as well. He has personally met with some of the people our program has helped. That consistency of character is what we need in the next Supreme Court Judge in the 2nd District.”
Steve Swarga runs the Reformers Unanimous addiction/recovery program that meets every Friday at Northwest Bible Baptist Church in Elgin. Typically, the program averages about 100 participants per meeting. About 80 percent of the people who go through the program end up overcoming their drug or alcohol addiction.
“Judge Noverini has written a letter of support for our program and as a result other judges are using our program as an alternative to jail time,” Swarga said. “His support of our work has meant a great deal to me and more importantly it has been life changing for the people we help. I urge voters in the 2nd Judicial District which consists of Lake, McHenry, Kendall, DeKalb and Kane counties to join me in electing Judge John Noverini to the Illinois Supreme Court.”
Judge Noverini and his wife, Saray Rodriguez Noverini, are long-time residents of Kane County. Judge Noverini was first elected to the bench in 2008 and during his judicial tenure has served in both criminal and civil courtrooms. His judicial experience includes having served as the Presiding Judge of the Family Law Division, Presiding Judge of the Criminal Law Division, and Presiding Judge of Probate, Guardianship, Traffic and Mental Health Courts.
A life-long Illinoisan, Noverini is a graduate of the Moody Bible Institute. He earned his Master of Arts in History from Northeastern Illinois University and a Juris Doctor from IIT/Chicago Kent College of Law. For more information, please visit www.noverini.com.
