Senator Dan Duffy resigned April 3 | McHenry Co Blog photo
BARRINGTON, IL – Wednesday evening, GOP Chairmen representing the 26th Senate District will meet in Barrington to pick a successor to complete Senator Dan Duffy's term.
Duffy resigned April 3 to become the president and CEO of Prevent Child Abuse America.
A committee consisting of the Republican Party Chairs from Kane, Lake and McHenry Counties and the elected Barrington and Hanover Township Republican Committeemen from Cook County will vote, and a press release says the new Senator will be sworn in Wednesday night.
Duffy, who limited himself to two terms, endorsed attorney Dan McConchie of Hawthorn Woods in the March 15th three-way GOP primary between McConchie, Casey Urlacher and Martin McLaughlin.
Although the media advisory from the Lake County Republicans did not indicate the names of those they are considering for the replacement, it is assumed they will give the nod to McConchie, who will begin serving the 26th District after tonight's swearing-in ceremony.
