WASHINGTON – Five Illinois Congress members scored well on the Federation of American Immigration Reform (FAIR)'s 2015 scorecard pointing out votes that affected the nation's immigration policy.
FAIR's assessment of the Republican majority's leadership on their issues was less than favorable. They write:
Despite having complete control of Congress and the majority of Americans behind them, Republican leaders showed little desire to pursue true immigration reforms or rein in the Obama administration's flagrant abuse of executive power. However, both chambers did consider several important immigration-related amendments, nominations, and bills in 2015.
Specifically, FAIR's report includes votes on:
- Defunding President Obama's unlawful executive amnesty programs
- Nominating pro-amnesty U.S. District Attorney Loretta Lynch to become Attorney General
- Defunding State and local jurisdictions with dangerous "sanctuary city" policies
Five of Illinois' 18 U.S. House members voted favorably to FAIR's scoring, earning them a 100% rating: Peter Roskam, Mike Bost, Rodney Davis, Randy Hultgren and John Shimkus.
