ST LOUIS – The Department of Justice announced a lawsuit against the City of Ferguson Missouri Thursday, setting aside good faiths effort the city officials made to conform to the Feds' demands after racial riots broke out in 2014.
Ferguson Mayor James Knowles told the St Louis ABC's Allman Report in an exclusive interview that the DOJ was demanding, among other things, that the city of 21,000 make their law enforcement officers "some of the highest paid in the area."
"It would bankrupt us within 18 months," Knowles said.
The question many are asking, "If the DOJ can do this to Ferguson, could our town be next?"
