BARRINGTON – While there's a three-way race going on in the 26th Senate GOP primary, two candidates appear to be emerged ahead, and the race tightening between Barrington Village President Martin McLaughlin and attorney Dan McConchie.
McConchie has won the backing of several conservative lawmakers including retiring State Senator Dan Duffy (R-Barrington), State Rep. Tom Morrison (R-Arlington Heights) and 14th CD Congressman Randy Hultgren. A letter going out this weekend announces the endorsement of McConchie by state pro-life and pro-family leaders.
McLaughlin continues to gain endorsements with the official backing of State Rep. Ed Sullivan (R-Mundelein) this week, along with the backing of Barrington Township Republicans and local realtors.
The third candidate in the race is Mettawa Mayor Casey Urlacher, brother to retired Chicago Bear Brian Urlacher.
