CHICAGO – Over the 2016 summer's first weekend holiday, Chicago's bloody neighborhoods nearly tripled the number of shootings with 68 wounded and seven killed.
The number of shootings over Memorial Day weekend in 2015 was 24 wounded and eight killed. In 2014, nine were killed and 27 wounded over the same three days.
In the month of May, 335 were shot and wounded, 61 shot and killed, bringing the number thus far in 2016 to 230 shot and killed, 1293 shot and wounded.
