Fran,
Might Illinois Review like to write something up on this?
The fact the DuPage has recognized "its obligation to affirmatively further fair housing" without letting residents (or perhaps even board trustees) know what it is disturbs me.
The following is what I just sent to all DuPage County board members as a follow up to my public comments last Thursday.

At the 5/24/2016 DuPage County board meeting, Dan Cronin read and the board approved a “Fair Housing month Proclamation.” It disturbed me, because the phrase “affirmatively further fair housing” was in it. Do you, the trustees, know what you agreed to?

What obligation does the county have to Affirmatively Further Fair Housing?
Are you aware that that phrase means to go out of your way to both racially and economically integrate all areas of the county. It is being used to justify government subsidized low income housing for people being moved into safe, wealthy neighborhoods – frequently ignoring local zoning rules.
