CHICAGO – U.S. Senator Mark Kirk's polling must be showing that a Republican can't win in Illinois, so he's decided the best thing for him to do is run as a Democrat. At least that's the impression this new ad running only in the Chicago area gives.
He's not getting help from the Republican Senate and even President George W. Bush isn't coming in to bolster his campaign.
Abortion advocates are backing his opponent Tammy Duckworth, his "F" rating from the NRA has left him with no gun owner votes and his constant demeaning of conservatives has burnt bridges with them.
Still, the ad says, he's "Even More" committed to un-Republican, middle of the road politics.
