CHICAGO – Possibly encouraged by Gov. Rauner's willingness to remove Illinoisans' First Amendment right of freedom of conscience, an Illinois anti-gun group is planning to agitate and protest at gun shops and manufacturers around the state as part of effort to end or limit citizens' Second Amendment rights.
The agitprop program is part of Peaceful Communities' Merchants of Death Tour, a series of left-wing protests at gun industry locations.
"The gun industry is making money by selling guns and ammunition that are causing enormous problems throughout our state and country," said Lee Goodman, organizer for the group Peaceful Communities. "That industry should be held accountable for the damage its products are causing," he continued.
According to union-funded Progress Illinois, the protests will begin August 15 and go through August 18, hitting the cities of Lockport, Coal City, Geneseo and Oregon, among others, along the way.
