It was fun seeing a movie about Hillary Clinton just four blocks from her childhood home in Park Ridge, Illinois. Tuesday night, the Republican Women of Park Ridge and the Maine Township Republican Organization hosted this screen of the critically acclaimed film Dinesh D'Souza at the historic Pickwick Theater.
The film is titled Hillary's America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party. From the film's website: "This eye-opening film sheds light on the Democrats’ transition from pro-slavery to pro-enslavement; how Hillary Clinton’s political mentor was, literally, a cold-blooded gangster; and how the Clintons and other Democrats see foreign policy not in terms of national interest, but in terms of personal profit. Hillary’s America uncovers how their plan is to simply steal America."
The evening was hosted by Republican Township Committeemen Char Foss Eggemann and Susan Sweeney. There was much excitement and conversation about the presidential debate the previous night with most folks declaring Donald Trump the winner. Trump yard signs, bumper stickers, and buttons were quickly snatched up.
One highlight of the evening was two protesters outside in support of Hillary Clinton. They were offered two free tickets to see the film, but declined the invitation. They told me the movie was "bad" but admitted they never saw it. A couple of other conservatives attending the screening engaged them in conversation and cordial debate. That is an ongoing issue with conservatives as they are very friendly and polite. After a few minutes the protesters went home.
Earlier this year these Republican groups showed another film showing the danger of a Hillary Clinton candidacy with a screening of 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi. This film explains the events of 9-11-2012 resulting in the murders of four Americans including Ambassador Chris Stevens. Read my IR story about that showing HERE.
What's next up for these active Republican groups? Congressman Peter Roskam will be the keynote speaker at the Red, White, & Blue Breakfast on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the Park Ridge Country Club. For more information, call Maria Dobben at 847-825-6896.
These two Republican groups will be knocking on doors every weekend. The election is Tuesday, November 8, 2016. Please get out and vote as this group says, "VOTE REPUBLICAN."
