CHICAGO – Standing in front of Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky's Chicago office Wednesday, GOP challenger Joan McCarthy Lasonde called for the six-term Democrat to resign after undercover videos appeared to reveal Schakowsky's husband Robert Creamer's shady political activism.
"Schakowsky almost certainly participated in those activities, and at a minimum, she must have known about them. And she could have stopped them. This is a sickening and terrifying abuse of power," Lasonde told reporters.
Lasonde said Creamer's activities included hiring mentally ill and homeless people to provoke violence – specifically at the Trump rally which had to be cancelled after violence broke out at the University of Chicago venue just before it was scheduled to start.

"Lives were put at risk. It's voter intimidation, it's criminal incitment of violence and undermining of democracy," she said. "I have no doubt she was a part of it."
Schakowsky carried a sign with her husband's organization's name on it at another protest near the cancelled Trump rally, Lasonde said, pointing to a photo taken at the protest.
Lasonde raised several questions, including:
Will they reimburse the Chicago Police for the costs imposed during the Trump rally violence?
Why aren't federal and state law enforcement investigating the possibility of criminal inciting violence?
She also asked why Robert Creamer visited the White House 342 times since 2009 – why was he there so much and what did the congresswoman know about her actions?
