All Americans need to pray for President-Elect Donald Trump and our country regardless of our personal votes on Tuesday. Exit polls showed that millions of Americans are angry and hopefully that anger may have found a release.
Although Trump will not win the national popular vote, his majority of 279 in the Electoral College is impressive. He will not govern alone since Republicans lost only one seat in the Senate and only six seats in the House so the GOP retains the majority in both houses of Congress. In all cases, the winning GOP senators won more votes than the President-elect in their states.
The new Congress also needs our prayers. We can hope and pray that the president-elect will be able to grow in his new position and listen to wise and experienced advisers and Vice President-elect Mike Pence who will help him unite the country. Their advice and counsel will be needed to convince the rest of the world that Americans do not bear any bad will to our friends and allies overseas.
God is still on his throne and his ways can be mysterious. God Bless America.
