CHICAGO – San Francisco 49er Colin Kaepernick ignored the pleas of Chicago police and military veterans last Saturday, asking the quarterback to respectfully end his ongoing protest and stand during the National Anthem before his team played the Chicago Bears.
During the anthem's playing before Sunday's game at Soldier Field, Kaepernick continued his demonstration
But U.S. Pacific Command Commander Adm. Harry Harris took note of Kaepernick's "taking the knee," and during a speech during a Pearl Harbor Remembrance Ceremony Wednesday blasted the protest without saying Kaepernick's name. The crowd went wild.
