Citing the record murder rate in Chicago, former Speaker Newt Gingrich on Tuesday slammed Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) for his emotional reaction at a press conference following President Trump's executive order on immigration.
"It really bothered me that Chuck Schumer could bring up a few tears for people that are not being killed, not being shot, not being imprisoned, they are simply being held in an airport," Gingrich said. "That brought tears. Four thousand Americans being shot, over 700 killed in Chicago. That didn't bring Chuck Schumer to tears. Didn't bring Rahm Emanuel to tears."
.@newtgingrich: Schumer could conjure up tears for people being held in an airport but not for the hundreds shot and killed in Chicago? pic.twitter.com/GESq1i6yY4
