CHICAGO – Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel said Wednesday he's against President Trump's suggestion to bring certain "Feds" into Chicago to protect its endangered citizens.
Emanuel told reporters he would accept help to fight crime and violence from the Department of Justice, the DEA and other agencies, but not the National Guard "because the city is re-invigorating its community policing."
And in response to the president's signing Wednesday of an executive order cutting Federal funding for cities that ignore immigration laws, the Chicago mayor said "We're gonna stay a sanctuary city … You are welcome in Chicago as you pursue the American dream."
