CHICAGO – The Chicago GOP is calling for like-minded citizens to lock arms with them as they resist expected opposition from Mike Madigan-allied protesters before a fundraiser for the Illinois GOP Thursday night at the downtown Hilton Hotel.
UPDATE x1 below …
Wednesday, an organized group of protesters announced their plans to disrupt the Republican fundraiser.
"They're going to try to make it look like Illinois supports Mike Madigan and hates Republicans," a statement from Chicago GOP said. "They'll call us extreme, racist, uncaring — in other words, engage in character assassination. In their view, they win when they're able to shout us down."
Just like the Left successfully shouted down and eventually shut down the Trump rally scheduled for the University of Chicago Pavilion last year.
But the Chicago GOP isn't tucking and running Thursday night.
"We're going to show up and let the world know that there's another side to this argument. We're going to carry a few signs and be there so the media doesn't show a one-sided demonstration," the group said.
They ask supporters to join them at 5:00 pm, tomorrow, Thursday, March 30 outside the Hilton Chicago, 720 S Michigan Avenue.
"If you can join the fight this Thursday, please email [email protected] and we will reach out to you with more information," they said.
