WASHINGTON – Illinois' new U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth has quietly been staffing up with lobbyists, the political watchdog Legistorm writes Wednesday.
As a representative, Tammy Duckworth added no lobbyists to her staff roster. Since her Senate inauguration in January, the Illinois Democrat has already hired her second.
Radha Adhar, now Duckworth's legislative assistant, worked as a Sierra Club lobbyist from 2012 until last summer, when she joined the Department of Energy.
The sole other ex-lobbyist on Duckworth's staff, Erika Moritsugu, joined Duckworth's staff as general counsel in January. She worked as a lobbyist for firms Wexler Walker and Hogan and Hartson (now Hogan Lovells) from 1995 to 2007.
