SPRINGFIELD – Republicans in the Illinois legislature are proposing full budgets, Democrats are grabbing onto problem-avoiding, partial "lifeline" budgets, State Rep. Mark Batinick (R-Plainfield) said last week on the Illinois House floor.
"The worse part of the crisis is the uncertainty it creates," Bartinick (R-Plainfield) said. The crisis is also shrinking state revenue. The Democrats' proposed stop-gap budget is "nothing but a scheme," he said.
