Pritzker Rebukes ‘Do-Nothing Democrats’ who ‘Lack Guts, Gumption’ Over Trans and Immigrant Scapegoating Following 2024 Losses

By Nancy Thorner –

Former Chicago Bear coach Mike Ditka's restaurant on Tuesday, May 2nd, served as the venue for introducing candidate Dr. Kelli Ward to potential Illinois donors. Dr. Ward is focused on unseating Arizona's GOP incumbent U.S. Senator Jim Flake in 2018.

Dr. Kelli Ward is a conservative champion who will stand with President Trump and fight to make America great again.  As noted on her website:

As a doctor, former State Senator, and conservative activist, I share your frustration with the bloated DC government that has become ineffective and, in many cases, outright corrupt. I'm proud to have fought shoulder to shoulder with limited government advocates across the country to battle the progressive Democrats' dangerous big government agenda. And I've fought against GOP Establishment hacks who incorrectly believe the solution to problems created by big government is more government.

Dr. Ward has been a military wife for the past 22 years. Her husband, also a doctor, will retire in June after 33 years in service. They are proud parents of three amazing kids.  After owning her own medical practice for over a decade, Kelli decided to jump into the fray of politics over her disappointment with what was going on in Washington, D.C., caring strongly about her kids and her country.  Check here for further information about the candidate.

Many candidates who run and get elected to office often forget their pre-election promises, as they become addicted to the power and control afforded by their elected offices.  "Not so", said Ward, who emphatically stated that such a self-serving attitude would never prevail if elected. She would go to Washington, D.C. to make a difference and to get things done for the people.

Ward as a candidate to unseat Senator McCain in 2014/Senator Flake in 2018

When Kelli Ward challenged Arizona's Senator John McCain in 2014, it was the first time she had run for a statewide office. She knew that McCain would pose a problem for President Trump's agenda, which he did.  Ward went on to lose, having been outspent 10-1 by McCain.  As Ward had been informed at the onset that most candidates don't win the first time around, she very well might have decided to exit politics to resume her normal life as an orthopedic physician.  For as she admitted, it is a sacrifice to run for office.  Undaunted, she decided that running again to unseat Senator John Flake was a mission she couldn’t shy away from.

As to this time around, Ward expressed a determination to build a campaign that will win, having learned many lessons in her campaign against Senator McCain. But why did she perceive Senator Flake so worthy of her personal sacrifice to challenge in 2018?

To understand the reason why, it is first essential to know what candidate Kelli Ward stands for, and, in so doing so, she let it be known that her values, as a conservative Republican, were the same as those who were present at her fundraiser.

What Ward Supports

  • Securing the border
  • Stopping illegal immigration
  • Getting rid of Obamacare
  • Decreasing regulations
  • Allowing free markets to flourish
  • Personal freedom

According to the Republican candidate, Senator Flake remains an embarrassment to Arizona and the nation in the votes he casts, and further aims to be a life time politician. He has served almost 18 years in office, twelve in the House and now in the final year of his first term in the U.S. Senate.  In this position he was a weak and ineffective senator for Arizona and for the nation. Flake opposed candidate Donald Trump every step of the way.

While millions were fighting to stop Hillary Clinton and elect President Trump in 2016, Senator Flake supported Hillary Clinton by being a vocal member of NeverTrump, casting his ballot for Evan McMullin. The biggest negative issue against Flake is he is still trying to get amnesty for illegals as when he was part of the Gang of 8 in 2013. Flake is also fake pro-life, as he has voted to fund Planned Parenthood in the budgets.

Regarding Ward's candidacy, Trump desperately need reinforcements in the Senate who will support his programs and policy ideas and help in draining the swamp.

In speaking about the current political climate in Washington, D.C., Dr. Ward related how from 2010 to 2016 Republicans opined over what their accomplishment would be if only they owned the House, the Senate, and the White House.  Control of the House was realized in 2010, with a further pickup of Republican members in 2012; the Senate was won in mid-term 2014; and the final part of the threesome was realized in 2016 with the election of Donald J. Trump as president, a candidate who shocked many in his ability to win.

With the election of Donald Trump, common is this frequently heard sentiment among conservative Republicans:  We now have the Senate, House and the White House.   We thought things would get done, so why are we now getting excuses instead of action?  Hence this message from Kelli Ward:  The era of excuses is over.  No longer will we accept deceit and lying from our own Party, from legislators, and other leaders who have no backbone to get things done.

Four Issues of Importance in Ward's Campaign

  • Make America Safe Again – Immigration.   The wall must be built for security and to curtail illegal immigration and drugs. Both Senators McCain or Flake will never vote to build a wall.
  •  Make American Prosperous Again – the Economy.  The economy under Obama only grew at 1.2 – 1.3%.  There is agreement that people will start to do better with a 4% growth.  Trump envisions a 6 – 7% growth per year.  Economically, every 1% of economic growth brings in $3 trillion of revenue to grow the economy.
  • Make Healthcare Affordable Again – Repeal Obamacare.   One of the main reasons Kelli first ran for the Arizona Senate was that Obamacare was going to affect her profession and her patients in an adverse manner.  The free market must be allowed to work.  Kelli is in favor of health savings accounts and in Medicaid going back to the states.
  • Make American Strong Again – Attend to our veterans and VA hospitals and strengthen our military.  Our military was decimated under eight years of President Obama.  It's not because we want to go to war, but, as with Reagan, it's Peace through Strength.  If we do go to war, we must have a plan to win, and then get out.

One question Dr. Ward is asked many times along the campaign trail is whether she supports term limits.  She does.

Ward referred to the Mother of all Problems as this nation's unfunded liability. It's a $100 trillion legacy our generation will leave upon the next generation if nothing is done. She firmly believes that our centralized government needs to be brought under control.

Candidate Kelli Ward will help make America strong.  She is not in favor of drawing lines in the sand and then failing to follow through.  As to lone-wolf terrorists, Ward realizes how difficult it is to stop individuals from committing jihad when religion serves as the motivator.

The Ward fundraiser was hosted by Family Pac's John McEnroe.
