The conservative movement is alive and well in Illinois in 2017. This past Saturday marked the largest rally to date for Walsh Freedom as Joe and Helene Walsh hosted over 2000 patriots Saturday at their Lake County Farm. Joe Walsh is a former congressman and host of a syndicated radio show on WIND 560-AM. The event focused on supporting police officers with buttons handed out saying "Thank You Blue."
"It's about God, America, Freedom and Patriots with the more then 2000 who attended our Walsh Freedom BBQ," according to Barbara Babbey, one of the organizers. Some had to park their cars up to a mile away and be shuttled in by golf carts.
The family picnic included elected officials, candidates, families and regular concerned Americans. Highlights included the singing of the National Anthem, America the Beautiful, and God Bless America. At sundown, there was a huge bonfire and a sensational fireworks show set to patriot music. Hundreds of people wore Trump t-shirts along with a large variety of patriotic theme apparel.
The Tea Party movement continues especially in Illinois where people feel they are "taxed enough already."
Wednesday, June 14, 2016 is Flag Day. To celebrate, the Chicago Northwest Side Republican Club is having a Flag Day party at Revel Bar at 6169 N Northwest Highway in Chicago. It starts at 5:00 pm with Todd and the Ten Pins Band playing outside in the parking lot.
All are invited, free for members, with a $10 cost to non members and $20 for "snowflakes." By the way, they also will be celebrating President Donald Trump's Birthday. I said it before, the conservative movement is alive and well in Illinois.
With the state of current events here, flying the American Flag on Wednesday and everyday seems more important then ever.
