CHICAGO – State Rep. David McSweeney (R-Barrington) said after Governor Rauner announced he would sign into law HB 40 Thursday, that Rauner is a "failed governor."
"Bruce Rauner is a failed governor. He led the effort for a tax hike and now says he's comfortable with the level of income taxes. And now some of those tax dollars will be used to fund elective abortions in Illinois," McSweeney said.
"He failed Illinois taxpayers. He is a failed governor."
Governor Rauner made the announcement surrounded by former lieutenant governor Corinne Wood – an abortion advocate, as well as the ACLU and the Chicago Abortion Fund.
