TO THE EDITOR:
Imagine two immigration policies so brilliant that no other western nation but America has adopted them – the visa lottery and chain migration. The visa lottery brings in people with no cultural affinity with the West, from countries who don't admire us.
“Each arrival can get citizenship in five years, and then begin choosing members of their extended family — including parents, siblings and their children — to also become U.S. residents and citizens, regardless of their character, education, ideology or security risks. This expanding, unscreened immigration system is known as “chain migration,” and it has more than doubled U.S. immigration rates during since the 1980s.” Since 1994, 5 million immigrants have entered through that gate. How many are on welfare, I wonder?
An Uzbek Muslim, Sayfullo Saipov, who won a green card in the 2010 lottery, allegedly massacred eight cyclists in New York on November 1st, running them down with a rented Home Depot truck. His name appears on 23 sponsorships for entry. Congressional Republicans must end these two awful policies before the 2018 election.
The Good News? Jeanne Ives (R-Wheaton) is running against Governor Rauner in the March 20 Republican primary. Jeanne has held her ground in the General Assembly. She's a West Point graduate and mother of five.
James Marter will run against Adam Kinzinger. Congressman Kinzinger has a D grade from Numbers USA for his votes on immigration, and an F from Conservative Review. He was bashing Trump, until he learned he had primary challengers.
