Years ago, one of Illinois’ most hardworking conservatives was Joe Wiegand, who worked hand-in-hand with the late Jack Roeser at Family Taxpayer Network. Joe’s good humor and kind personality was disarming among tough politicians in Springfield.
But Joe sought a unique career recreating an historical figure he resembled – President Teddy Roosevelt. He’s been successful – having been asked to perform in the Bush White House, featured on C-SPAN and in documentaries.
Next Saturday April 14th, Joe will be in Aurora to thank the American Legion and honor Quentin Roosevelt.
“This performance is preceded by a Friday spent with the cadets at Marmion Academy and entertaining seniors in Ela Township, not far from my old digs in Palatine,” Joe told Illinois Review. “I’m back in May for a fundraiser for the Barrington Area Conservation Trust and a Memorial Day performance at Rockford’s Memorial Hall. It’s always good to be back in Illinois.” (See schedule HERE)
And since Teddy was taught at home for much of his life, Joe says homeschoolers should love the performances, too.
