Cook County Board of Review Commissioner Dan Patlak is organizing a running team to raise funds for the Safe Haven Foundation Saturday, July 14. Breaking news: I’ve joined the team and will be running this Saturday.
The Safe Haven Foundation's 8th Annual 5K RUN! To End Homelessness will be Saturday at Chicago’s beautiful Montrose Harbor Grove 16 at 600 W Montrose Harbor Dr., Chicago, IL 60613 at 8:30 a.m. Proceeds will go to support transforming lives from homelessness to self-sufficiency with pride and purpose. Music and a FREE Kids Fun RUN! (Registration required) will also be included.
A Safe Haven's center is located west of Chicago's Loop at 2750 West Roosevelt where they have a transitional housing facility with the capacity of 406 beds for 210 men, 69 women, and 127 children. Much of their focus is on finding employment to break the cycle of homelessness.
