CHICAGO – While the Illinois Republican Party's website makes no official statement about an online survey the party is circulating, access to the ILGOP Vision 2020 asks several questions about how the party should proceed.
Located online HERE, the survey – which can be answered anonymously – opens with this statement:
Thank you for your involvement with the Illinois Republican Party. Benjamin Franklin once said, “We must, indeed, all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.” The 2018 Illinois gubernatorial election serves as a reminder to us all that the Illinois Republican Party and its candidates can succeed only when Illinois Republicans are unified. Your answers to the following questions will help inform the efforts of the Illinois Republican Party to unify Illinois Republicans as we look toward the 2020 presidential election and beyond. You may provide your name at the end of the survey or remain anonymous.
The survey – which reports to close January 10, 2019 – includes questions like these:
Other questions ask how involved the participant is in IL GOP activities, and positions they hold in the party – ranging from state central committeeman to volunteer or
currently not involved."
Comments from those that have participated convey disappointment that no questions ask about the effect President Donald Trump may have had on the election. Others are encouraged that the IL GOP is appearing to evaluate its direction in 2020.
What do you think about the survey, and are you inclined to offer your opinion?
