McHenry County, Ill. – Frustrated with county politics enough to step up and be part of the solution?
McHenry County is seeking qualified candidates to apply to succeed County Board member Michael Walkup, who resigned from office effective Dec. 1, 2018. The McHenry County Board Chairman shall fill the vacancy with the County Board’s advice and consent.
Candidates must be age 18 or older, registered to vote in McHenry County, a Republican, and must live in County Board District 3, which covers all of Nunda Township, McHenry Township precincts 2, 9, 20, 22, 25, 28 and 30, and Algonquin Township precincts 21, 29, 49, 50 and 67. The appointee will serve through the expiration of the term, Dec. 1, 2020.
The County Board is responsible for establishing the budgets of county government and dependent agencies, and adopting ordinances and rules pertaining to the management and business of county departments.
