The 2020 elections will be an IQ test for Americans to see if they still deserve a democracy. Anybody who is paying attention to politics has seen a massive attempt by Democrats over the last two years to convert America from a land of freedom and capitalism to a socialist nation in which the federal government will control every aspect of our lives from light bulbs to steaks and hamburgers. Sadly, far too many Americans are not paying attention or are being misled by a highly biased media which only 32% of Americans have confidence in per multiple polls. To those that are not paying attention, I remind them of Pericles’ opinion of that when he said, “Any citizen who does not pay attention to politics has no right to live in Athens”. Amen!
The Democrat’s publicly announced “Green New Deal” is the “canary in the coal mine” that should wake up all rational Americans regarding the risk Democrats pose to our democracy and prosperity. They want to totally convert America, the most prosperous nation on the planet; from a nation run by fossil fuels that created that prosperous nation to extremely costly wind and solar energy that will not only bankrupt America, but probably could never be accomplished anyway. After all, “sometimes the wind don’t blow and the sun don’t shine”! Added to that, the “Green New Deal” will guarantee all Americans a living wage paid by the taxpayer even if they refuse to work. Thomas Jefferson warned us about that disaster when he said “Democracy will cease to exist when you take money away from those who are willing to work and give to those that are not”. It is not enough for Democrats that the bottom 47% of American income earners pay zero federal income taxes while the top 10% of Americans pay more than 70% of all federal income taxes while earning roughly 45% of America’s income. Now some socialist Democrats want to tax wealthy Americans up to 70% of their incomes and even tax their assets to take away their homes, cars, and savings. Instead of respecting successful and wealthy Americans and “reaching up for the brass ring”, these socialist Democrats hate successful Americans and what to drag our country down to “the lowest common denominator”.
But the Democrat’s “Green New Deal” gets even crazier! They want to dramatically reduce air travel and force us to use nonexistent “bullet trains” for our vacations to Hawaii and Europe. Seriously! They want to kill all cows and take away our steaks and hamburgers because cow “farts” ad to global warming. No kidding! Is there any rational person in America that would buy in to that?
These crazy socialist Democrats just showed you how destructive they can be when Amazon just pulled out of bringing 25,000 jobs to New York City which paid on average over $125,000 a year because Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her fellow socialists hate “big business” and created a hostile business environment that Amazon was simply not willing to tolerate. Not only did that cost NY City people those jobs, it took away billions of dollars of tax income and thousands of support jobs that would have helped all NY City residents. Does any informed rational person need more proof of the damage of these socialist Democrats?
But it gets worse. Democrats slammed conservative Justice Kavanaugh in the Supreme Court hearings because one woman made undocumented sexual abuse charges going back decades to when he was in college that not one witness or fact could confirm. They demanded that he pull out of consideration and every Democrat voted against him despite his brilliant career. Democrats won the governorship in Virginia by accusing the Republican candidate of racism with not one iota of proof. As Hillary Clinton famously said, Republicans were “Racists, sexists, homophobes, & xenophobes”. Suddenly, the Democrat governor and AG of Virginia have admitted to insulting Blacks in their past and the Lt. Governor now has two women accusing him of sexually attacking them with significant evidence and yet all of three of these Democrats are refusing to resign and are demanding the very rights that Democrats refused to give to Judge Kavanaugh and the Republican candidate for governor for Virginia. Plus as Democrats ridiculously accused President Trump of being anti-Semitic (his daughter and grandchildren are Jewish!), the new Democrat Congresswomen of Minnesota had to apologize for her incredibly crude anti-Semitic remarks. Folks, those are perfect examples of widespread Democrat hypocrisy!
The obvious bottom line is that Democrats are asking Americans to give up their freedom and control over their own lives in return for the “security” of having the federal government run their lives and protect them from “global warming” which they claim will destroy the Earth in just 12 years. Besides being a hysterical and provably wrong claim, the real risk to Americans if a majority of them vote for these socialist extremists was best summarized by Benjamin Franklin when he said “The man who trades freedom for security neither deserves or will ever receive either”.
The 2020 elections will determine if Americans can pass this IQ test and if they still deserve freedom! Let’s hope we can avoid Plato’s warning 2,400 years ago “Democracy passes into despotism”. Just ask the folks in Venezuela!
