SPRINGFIELD – Despite a super-majority in both chambers and the Governor's mansion, the Democrats just can't seem to get their work done during the regular session.
Illinois House Speaker Mike Madigan announced late Friday afternoon that the Illinois House will stay in the capital for at least for two more days, citing "the volume of work load."
The long-awaited 1581-page Illinois state budget finally appeared on the desks of lawmakers around noon Friday – timed to limit the hours and days lawmakers might have to see how their constituents will be served and how taxpayers funds will be spent by the Democrats – including the surprise $1.5 Billion Illinois raked in last month, thanks to the Trump Administration's booming economy.
