WHEATON – Freshman Congressman Sean Casten (IL-06) has joined "The Squad's" efforts to push for impeachment of President Trump and now he's joined onto the Leftist Democrat's effort to impeach US Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
The Left is pushing for reaction to a newly-released book that gives second- and third-hand information suggesting yet another accusation of Kavanaugh's college antics for which the Left insists Kavanaugh should be ousted from his lifetime appointment.
Republican Jeanne Ives, who is seeking the GOP nomination to challenge Casten in November 2020, says Casten's move is "appalling."
"Why has my opponent been focused on a politically motivated smear campaign against Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh?" Ives asked in a mass email. "Did we send him to Washington to be just another mouthpiece for the extremist left? …This is appalling!"
Ives went on to say the hardworking families of the Sixth-District she meets every day deserve a representative who has a record of fighting for their needs, not pushing leftist political fantasies.
One of those hardworking families Ives met lives next door to Casten. Ives says she got a call from him the day after she announced her bid for the 6th CD, and Casten's neighbor Paul Hall now has an Ives sign in his front yard.
"This is time to act – the decisions we make now will determine the opportunities we pass along to the next generation. We must take back Congress in this campaign cycle," Ives wrote to her supporters.
As of this week, three are running for the 6th CD GOP nomination – former State Rep. Ives, former Lt. Gov Evelyn Sanguinetti and Dr. Jay Kinzler. Whoever among the three wins the March 2020 GOP primary will face Casten in November 2020.
