WASHINGTON DC – The Trump Campaign and the Republican National Committee released the members of the Illinois Trump Victory effort, which, the press release says,"will work to advance the agenda of President Trump and Republicans up and down the ballot.
While an array of personalities have claimed they are organizing groups statewide to "get Trump re-elected," the names the Victory campaign released officially recognizes only four people: Congress members Darin LaHood, John Shimkus, Rodney Davis and Mike Bost.
Congressman Adam Kinzinger is the only Republican caucus member from Illinois not included in the list.
"Our Illinois Trump Victory leadership team will work to elect Republicans across the state," said Brad Parscale, Campaign Manager of Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. and Ronna McDaniel, Chairwoman of the RNC in a joint statement.
"President Trump has delivered a soaring economy, rebalanced trade relations,, lowered healthcare costs, and fought to secure our border. His successes can be felt nationwide and electing Republicans across Illinois will help to ensure he can achieve more victories for the American people for many years to come."
Clayton Henson is the Trump Victory regional political director. None specific for Illinois was named.
Two former Republican congressional districts are being carefully watched as indicators whether Republicans can regain the House majority: the 6th CD and the 14th CD. There is also concern about the 13th CD falling into Democrat hands leading up into the 2022 District Remap.
