By Nancy Thorner -
Having grown up abroad, author Alex Newman's first experience with American government education was when he moved back to Florida and attended the University of Florida. There he took a course in American History to find that is was being taught by a raving feminist. Instead of teaching the class American history, they learned about the history of feminism and Marxism.
Overwhelmed with his experience, Newman searched the internet and found out about conservative educator and leader Phyllis Schlafly.
Newman shared his findings at Phyllis Schlafly's Eagle Council XLVIII, September 13 – 15, at the Marriott St. Louis Airport, Saint Louis, Missouri.
Mr. Newman is an award-winning international journalist, educator, author, and consultant. He served as president of the media and information consulting firm Liberty Sentinel Media, Inc. and has written a variety of publications in the United States and abroad. He serves as a contributor to World Net Daily and the New American magazine. He's a writer for Freedom Project Media, and a contributor to the Law Enforcement Intelligence Brief. He is also the co-author of the highly popular book Crimes of the Educators: How Utopians Are Using Government Schools to Destroy America's Children
What he shared should stir concern, and even anger, over the brainwashing happening to children in our public schools. It is up to you to know what your children are being taught and then take action.
Newman sounds US education alarm
As reflected in the polling data cited by Newman, we our losing our children. We will lose our freedoms and our political battle if we don't get serious about our education system. Following is the percent of Millennial and Gen Z who agree with the following statements:
- Should provide universal health care 73.2%
- Should provide tuition-free college 67.1%
- Prefer living in a socialist country 49.6%
- Support abolishing ICE 43.1%
Said Newman, kids are getting “dumber and dumber through indoctrination.” For instance, “there is a War on God. Everything God teaches us in the Bible is being flipped upside down. God created only two genders, male and female, not multiple genders. Marriage is not what you wish it to but only between a male and female. While the UN says earth groans every time a new baby is born, God implores us to marry and multiply.”
U.N. Agendas 21 and 30 aim to change the attitude of children
Newman cites U.N Agenda 21 and 30 as the key tools to change the attitude of children. Both have Sustainable Development Goals. As far back as 1949, UNESCO, under the first Secretary General Julian Huxley, believed schools must be used to "combat family attitudes."
While Agenda 21 resolved at the UN World Conference on Education for all in 1990 that "All children must be subjected to "the same standards of learning", today's UN Agenda 2030 contains the "master plan for humanity." According to UN Agenda 2030, "Children are critical agents of change and will find in the new Goals a platform to channel their infinite capacities for activism into the creation of a better world."
A film was shown to demonstrate how children were brainwashed in the early 90's to prepare them as the next generation to accept gay marriage and to further strike down marriage laws, which they did.
Today the same practice is happening in our schools, this time with global warming, through the UN science curriculum being taught to children. Prior to 2005, this was not an issue in schools. Now teachers tell students CO2 will kill us all; that is, unless we tax and regulate in accordance with the U.N.
As Mr. Newman said: " Climate has changed since God put the planet here and will continue to change; farmers pump CO2 into their greenhouses as plants use and like CO2; there is now a shortage of CO2 in the atmosphere; and human emissions amount to a fraction of 1% of all the greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere. If AOC doesn't win the issue now, the children of today will surely demand it when they become adults. Children are frightened. It is our fault that children are worried they will die."
Using schools to transform society
Listen here to the remarks of Sr. Director of Mid-Continental Regional Education Laboratory Dr. Shirley McCune made about education at the National Governor's Association. She called for a total transformation of our society. Teaching of facts and information (knowledge) is no longer the primary purpose of education. Instead, schools must foster social change by anticipating what the future will be and then prepare children to conform to them. Newman gave three examples of what is happening in CA to foster social change in young children.
- When parents were not pleased with a teacher talking about pedophiles, the parents were told by the teacher that since this sexual orientation existed in history with the Greeks, there was nothing wrong with introducing children to it.
- Drag Queen Story Hours is doing its job, as now 27% of 12 – 17-year-old children are gender neutral.
- Who are You? The kid's guide to gender identity is recommended for 5-year-old.
The dumbing down of children through Common Core
It was Obama's Education Secretary, Arne Duncan, who brought Common Core through UNESCO — a "global partner" of US government — into American classrooms to create "green" global citizens. As Secretary Duncan said at the time: "Education is a global public good unconstrained by national boundaries."
On the Validation Committee were two experts in the field. Dr. Sandra Stotsky of the University of Arkansas, the only English expert on the committee, spoke of the standards as written hastily by people who didn't care how poorly written they were." Also, "Common Core reduces both literary study and the opportunity for kids to develop critical thinking skills."
Dr. James Milgram of Stanford University, the only math expert on the committee, deemed "the Core Mathematics Standards were written to reflect very low expectations." Also, that “actual errors exist that are neither mathematically correct nor especially clear.
In speaking about the pseudo-science Common Core standards being fed to the next generation of students, Elementary -school standards teach that the burning of fossil fuels is the major factor in global warming. Evolution is heavily emphasized, even though more than half of Americans reject the theory in scientific polls. Children never learn about the Scientific Method.
What should be of great concern is that data gathering and mining software tools are being used to capture, store, manage, and analyze children, thus enabling algorithms to infer the users' knowledge, intentions, and interests. Models are then created to predict future behavior and interest. Mental health gathering also exists to monitor the emotional responses of children.
What testing reveals
Every 2 years a survey is done in the 8th grade to access student progress. According to the National Assessment of Educational Progress the report is a dismal one.
- Over 2/3 of 8th graders BELOW proficient in math.
- Just 12 of 8the graders proficient in English.
- Just 1/3 of seniors proficient in math.
- About 1/3 of seniors proficient in reading.
As Ronald Reagan said in referring to his National Commission on Excellence in Education in1983: “The educational foundations of our society are presently being eroded by a rising tide of mediocrity that threatens our very future as a nation and a people."
In 1993 a federal literacy study found half of adult Americans could barely read. In 2003 a National Assessment of Adult Literacy again found around 50% barely literate. It's even worse in D.C. where 2 of 3 residents over age 15 are functionally illiterate. Contrast that with Early America where 85% could read between 1758 and 1762; 90% between 1787 and 1795; and almost 1900% in cities like Boston.
Mann and Dewey influence U.S. public education
Thinking common education would "equalize man" with obedience, Horace Mann started mostly secular schools in Massachusetts. Then John Dewey, a Religious Humanist, came along. Dewey is considered the "Father of Progressive Education," Architect of Public Schools. He regarded the universe as self-existing and not create, having emerged as the result of a continuous process…EVOLUTION.
In 1955 Rudolf Flesch wrote the book
Why Johnny Can't Read, realizing that the "look-say (whole word) method favored by Dewey, which was being used to teach reading all over the United States, had been plaguing students since the early 20th century. They were not learning to read.
Flesch introduced phonics into the teaching of reading. Dr. Stanislas Dehaene, director of Neuro-Imaging Unit at Saclay, France, supported the findings of Mr. Flesch by indicating that "cognitive psychology directly refutes any notion of teaching via a 'global' or 'whole language' method."
What does the future hold?
Given Dewey's Religious Humanist manifesto, it came to pass in 1962 that the Supreme Court banned school prayer in Engel v. Vitale. In 1963 the Earl Warren Supreme Court banned Bible reading in school.
It was in 1989 that Robert Muller, Assistant UN Secretary, created a "World Core Curriculum" that earned him the UNESCO Prize for Peace Education in 1989. WCC was to "steer our children toward global citizenship, earth-centered beliefs, socialist values and the collective mindset which is becoming a requirement for the 21st century workforce."
Common Core started to take off in 2004 when Bill Gates signed an education agreement with UNESCO in 2004 on behalf of Microsoft to create a master curriculum and standards. Gates donated two $2 billion for this effort.
It was Obama's Education Secretary, Arne Duncan, who brought Common Core through UNESCO into American classrooms to create "green" global citizens. As Secretary Duncan said at the time: "Education is a global public good unconstrained by national boundaries."
This is now happening at a rapid pace in our classrooms though Common Core indoctrination. Our options, according to Newman, is to withdraw from the public education system in massive numbers or prepare for a future of planetary serfdom.
What does God say about education? "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6
