Peter Breen and wife Margie at 47th March for Life
DC – At least one DuPage County family made their way to DC Friday to join the 47th Annual March for Life. For the first time in American history, the nation's president personally appeared at the gathering, telling the thousands gathered that he was "Proud to stand with them for Life."
"We were witnesses to history," Margie Breen, wife of former State Rep. Peter Breen said on Facebook. "It was amazing!" The Breens and their two sons heard President Trump's words and the reaction of the crowd appreciative of the president's support.
In 2013, then-President Barack Obama made history by publicly addressing the abortion industry leader Planned Parenthood. Seven years later, President Trump, proclaiming January 22 "Sanctity of Life Day," emphasized his efforts to squelch abortion policy, criticized states opening to more and more abortions, as well as promising he would continue supporting Life as long as he is president.
Breen, who defends prolife clients in his service on the Thomas More Society legal team, has been directly involved this past year in defending David Daleiden. Daleiden faces criminal charges in California for undercover reporting of Planned Parenthood's baby parts marketing.
Breen, of Lombard, is seeking re-election to the 48th Illinois House District in 2020.
