This Saturday, January 11, 2020 is the March for Life starting at 1:00 p.m. at the Daley Plaza on Dearborn in downtown Chicago. Last year the march started at the federal plaza so people should be aware of the new location three blocks north at the Daley Plaza. Thousands are expect to attend.
The annual march coincides with the 47th anniversary of the Supreme Court case legalizing abortion, Roe vs Wade. The case was decided January 22, 1973. It is estimated 60 million unborn babies have been killed through abortion in the United States since that decision.
At the March for Life, you will be able to meet Rep Avery Bourne (R – 95th IL House district) at a special pre-March gathering, preceding the March for Life in Chicago. She was sworn into office on February 20, 2015. She was the youngest legislator to be sworn into the Illinois General Assembly, breaking the record set by John McCandish King in 1950.
There will be a convention before the march starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Congress Plaza Hotel at 520 South Michigan Avenue. The March for Life starts at the Daley Plaza at 50 West Washington Street, Chicago, Illinois. After the March there will be a Catholic mass at the Congress Hotel at 4:00 p.m. followed by a banquet. The banquet starts at 5:30 p.m. followed by another separate event at 8:30, swing dancing. Tickets and the whole schedule are on the link below:
