Endorsed 3rd CD GOP candidate Mike Fricilone (L) with Cook Co GOP Chairman Sean Morrison (R)
CHICAGO – Once again, a rogue candidate circulated petitions in Illinois' 3rd CD enough to get his name on the primary ballot – and this time, Republican party officials made it very clear this week they want nothing to do with him.
In a press conference in downtown Chicago Thursday, Republican officials did what they could to denounce candidate Art Jones, a self-proclaimed Nazi, whose name will appear on the March 17th GOP primary ballot.
Cook County Republican Party Chairman Sean Morrison, Illinois GOP Chairman Tim Schneider, Will County GOP Chairman George Pearson and several other local GOP leaders urged Republicans to vote for Will County board member Mike Fricilone over Jones.
"Mike Fricilone's Republican and conservative credentials are unquestioned and quite frankly, are second to none. I'm urging all Republican voters in the 3rd Congressional District to cast their vote for Mike," said Chairman Morrison.
Mike Fricilone has served on the Will County Board since 2012. During his tenure as Finance Chairman, the board reduced tax rates four consecutive years, cut excessive spending, streamlined services and modernized facilities which saved millions in taxpayers dollars.
"Make no mistake about it, there is nothing Republican about Art Jones and his Nazi beliefs. We disavow what he stands for and his candidacy has no place within the republican party," added Chairman Morrison.
GOP leaders are asking voters to visit www.MikeFricilone.com to learn more about Mike's candidacy, volunteer or request a yard sign.
Will County Board member Steve Balich, Julie Berkowicz, IL-3 Congressional Candidate Mike Fricilone, Gretchen Fritz, Annette Parker, George Pearson, Tom McCullagh, Judy Ogalla and Judy Wooten will host a Will County Rally on March 11th at Chapin Banquets in Minooka, featuring US Senate candidate Tom Tarter.
