SPRINGFIELD – While the world's attention was suddenly diverted in early March 2020 to a global pandemic crisis concerning Coronavirus 19, the Illinois legislature and issues being considered stirring heated response statewide suddenly came to a screeching halt.
No hearings scheduled in the Illinois House or Senate. No floor debates on the dockets. The plug was pulled on the hundreds of calls coming into local and state capitol offices on those hot topics such as the progressive tax, vaccine mandates and union mandates.
Lawmakers are telling us they are hearing the Illinois General Assembly is likely not to meet again until late April 2020, although currently, the Illinois General Assembly website says the IL Senate is scheduled to meet again on March 31.
