Crystal Lake, IL – State Representative Allen Skillicorn (R-Crystal Lake) says Gov. JB Pritzker needs to fix the Illinois Department of Employment Security website and if the Governor doesn’t get it fixed, he will file a resolution to recall the Governor’s election.
“For the past two months, the site has had all kinds of technical issues causing delays and frustration for thousands of Illinois residents trying to file for unemployment benefits and now the processing system is making private information publicly available,” Skillicorn said. “Managing this site is the one job and the one responsibility the Governor has in all of this and he can’t even do that. The level of incompetence here is incredible. He needs to stop frolicking around in Florida and Wisconsin with his horses and get to work to do the one thing the state can actually do to help citizens – process their unemployment claims.”
Skillicorn said if this is not resolved soon, he will file a recall resolution.
“The Governor creates high unemployment in Illinois thanks to his unconstitutional lockdown orders. Then he threatens people with jail time for simply wanting to go back to work to feed their families,” Skillicorn said. “They can’t get unemployment benefits because of the delays and now people’s private information is being made public. This needs to be fixed and it needs to be fixed now. If he can’t do it, then we need to recall this incompetent, power hungry, billionaire buffoon and replace with someone who can actually lead this state.”
