Well folks the hard data is in and the facts prove that Sweden made the right decision not to shut down its economy and not kick its children out of school unlike the rest of the world which did those shut downs and caused massive damage to its people. You are probably shocked by this because Sweden’s success has not been reported in the vast majority of the news.

Let me provide you some hard facts that will stun you. Sweden made the decisions not to shut down its economy and not to kick its kids out of school and instead focused on isolating vulnerable older retired people. The result has been that Sweden has less COVID 19 deaths per 100,000 people than Belgium, the UK, Spain, and Italy which did shut down their economies and kick their kids out of school. Shouldn’t that be headline news? On top of that, while Sweden’s economy has only seen a 8.6% drop, the EU has seen a 11.9% drop, Spain has seen a 18.5% drop, France a 13.8% drop, and Italy a 12.4% drop because they shut down their economies. Shouldn’t that be headline news? On top of that, those countries that shut down their economies and kicked their kids out of school have seen massive increases in depression which has increased deaths by suicide, drug overdoses, and domestic violence. Sweden has not. The majority of Swedes support their country’s decision not to shut down their economy and their schools.

Let’s compare Sweden’s success against America’s failure. The state of Michigan and Sweden have exactly the same population of 10 million. Michigan had some of the toughest lockdowns in America. How did that work out? As of yesterday, Michigan has seen 6,520 deaths from  COVID 19. Sweden which did not shut down its economy or its schools and avoided causing massive pain to its people only had 5,766 deaths or 754 less than Michigan. Shouldn’t that be headline news? So on top of not causing massive pain to its people, Sweden had 11.6% less deaths than Michigan did!

Here is the other good news about Sweden that you did not hear on the news. In addition to having less COVID 19 deaths per 100,000 people than much of Europe and Michigan, Sweden has successfully been creating “herd Immunity” for its people because healthy young people are “out and about” and building up their T-cells which protect them from COVID 19. Studies indicate that Sweden’s people have twice the T-cells to protect them from COVID 19 compared to countries that have shut down their economies and isolated their people. How come this is not headline news?

This debate has become critical for another reason. Much of the U.S. will be closing their schools again this fall and go back to “virtual education” which has been a proven failure and that will cause serious mental, social, and academic damage to our kids which will hurt them for the rest of their lives. Sweden and even the rest of Europe are already sending their kids back to school and there has not been a spike in COVID 19 deaths as a result. Time is of the essence for this debate. Keeping our kids out of school will hurt them for the rest of their lives. It is time that we demand that facts not hysterical ignorance determine the futures of our kids. It is time for Americans to demand that we reopen our economy and our schools and stop the massive pain that has been caused by the hysterical and misinformed decision to close our economy and our schools. Let’s get the good news about Sweden out to the American people so we can let informed logic, not hysterical ignorance rule our lives!!
