President Donald J. Trump is barnstorming the country holding huge rallies in battleground states this week. Saturday night, I headed up to the Waukesha County Airport just north of Milwaukee, Wisconsin to attend his rally.
This was the 3rd rally of the day for the president starting in North Carolina, then Circleville, Ohio before ending up in Wisconsin. Trump was just in Janesville, Wisconsin one week ago with a rally at their airport.
I arrived about four hours before the President. He flew into Mitchell Airport about 20 miles away and motorcaded to Waukesha. Many were disappointed they didn’t get to see Air Force One but the Waukesha County Airport runway was too short for a jumbo jet.
During his speech, the president had the usual lines bashing Joe Biden calling him “Sleepy Joe” and mocking him for hiding in the basement. The theme of “law and order” was strong with a large amount of police and first responders attending the rally.
Another interesting tidbit was the unusual password given to the media to use the campaign WIFI. It was “WhoBuiltTheCagesJoe?” which was a reminder from the debate. The president said children detained at the border were kept in cages by Obama and Biden during their terms. Very few media outlets mentioned this in their stories.
One of the many highlights was the President at the end of his remarks dancing to the Village People's classic, "YMCA." Seeing the president “bust a move” with 10,000 supporters singing that song always gives me chills, in a good way – like when the president took the stage the song “God Bless the USA” by Lee Greenwood was playing.
President Trump is returning to Wisconsin on Tuesday night with a rally in West Salem. The election is just a week away on Tuesday, November 3, 2020.
