Tuesday, the Illinois Republican Party – headed by Chairman Don Tracy – hosted a panel discussion and lunch at Maggiano’s in Chicago's River North. The Cook County GOP and the Chicago GOP co-hosted the event.
Crime in Chicago has increased significantly over the past few years. Many are blaming it on Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx, and Cook County judges.
The panel included Pastor Corey Brooks from New Beginnings Church and Project Hood, Kevin Graham former Chicago Fraternal Order of Police President, Ammie Kessem, 41st Ward GOP Committeeman & Chicago Police Sergeant, Gary McCarthy, former Chicago Police Superintendent, and Sean Morrison – Cook County Commissioner. The panel was moderated by Richard Porter, Illinois' RNC Committeeman. The panel discussed the crime in Chicago, offering many solutions.
The consensus among those attending is Chicago needs new leadership. The Republicans said this is their time to step up to support law and order.
