ON OCTOBER 3, 1863, ABRAHAM LINCOLN PROCLAIMED THANKSGIVING A NATIONAL HOLIDAY
In doing so, he explained,
"In the midst of civil war of unequal magnitude and severity … peace has been preserved with all nations … and harmony has prevailed everywhere." He declared that the last Thursday of November shall become a day of "Thanksgiving and Praise."
WE CELEBRATE HIS SPIRIT
AND WISH YOU A SAFE AND MEMORABLE HOLIDAY.
